Species: Orca (Orcinus orca)

Habitat: Orcas are found in all the world's oceans, from pole to pole. In Alaska, orcas frequent glacial fjords, rocky shorelines, and ice-filled arctic waters.

Fun Fact: Two types of orcas inhabit Alaska - Residents and transients. Resident orcas only eat fish, while transient orcas consume other marine mammals, such as porpoise and seals.

Habitat: Polar bears inhabit the shifting pack ice of the Arctic.

Fun Fact: Polar bears are not white - they have black skin, with clear, hollow hairs that trap light in such a way that when light bounces between the hairs the bear appears white, blending in with the snow and ice.
